Friends

I really don't have much to say tonight because I am exhausted after just having dinner with some friends and coworkers to say good bye to a friend. (I am really bad about run on sentances when I am tired so sue me). My friend is leaving for france to teach for 8 months and it was hard to say goodbye to her because she was such an awesome person, everybody loved her and respected her emensly. Myself personally, I found her to be a very respectful person to everyone and I put much stock in that personality trait. The whole night made me start thinking of what kind of friend I want to be... not who I want to be friends with. So I want to give a little shout out to the people who make me smile when they respond to my blog (really everyone does but these people have become bloggin' buddies.)
1. LenaSparkle... who is no longer with us in blog but is a good friend
2. PoorArt's Anna Banana.
3. Trevor Record- whom I would like to call Trev but he hasn't ok'd it yet.
4. Scott- a guy who knows the bay area and tries to cheer me up... it works.
5. Mai Lian- always chipper and up beat.
6. (Jada's gigi) Cheryl- a very kind person that I respect

All of these people are people I am attracted to for thier minds and personalities and I hope to be as good to them as they are to me. I am so tired so I am out like a sprout. Good night to all my bloggin buds and I hope to get to know more about you all.

As I was going to Saint Ives...

I love that stinkin riddle! Anywho, I am so relieved it is the weekend. I am feelin' much better compared to earlier this week. That day and the next were HORRIBLE! I know that part of my problem though is my sensitivity to all that is on my plate. Hopefully, my work situation is something that I can compartmentalize in order to go on living the rest of my life.

Now, here is a funny story, Last night, after seeing flight plan, I went to a fancy little Japanese restaurant (the kind where they make the food in front of you and there is fire and smoke etc. etc. etc.) and I had a few drinks to where I was in my "I'm the queen" stage. So as we are driving down the road, Andy looks at these kids in the car next to us, which in turn makes me look. These 15 year old babies are sitting there staring at us so I make the "W" (west side) with my hand and yell what's up! (did I mention I was intoxicated!). The curly haired kid in the front does it back at me like I was the retarded one (well, maybe i was a little) so I throw both hands up doing the "W"s and am making a complete ass of myself... yes I said ass (Do you like my foreshadowing?). So then the car pulls forward, I see three kids in the back and suddenly I am not the only ass. YES, I was being mooned. HAHA! I died laughing and the boys had a huge grin on their faces. But I did notice the girl he was facing looked a little perplexed! Maybe this is offensive to some but to me this is stinkin' funny!

I have another mast test on monday so my day today is going to be completely devoted to procrastination, JK really to homework. I so far have gotten one F and one A. I am shooting for at least a C on this next one. C ya!

My dad n' me

Today my dad headed off to China for a few weeks and I was sad to say good bye to him. Not sad enough though, to remind him that he wasn't taking me!!! Jerk! That's Ok he promised me a cruise to Russia in May... Let's see if he holds up to his promise. Anyway, this next picture he is showing off his "buggie" that him and his worker, Fernando, were working on.

My dad is cool but from a VERY different era than me. It was always his joke to ask the waitress, "So what do you think our relationship is". They usually said, "Umm Grandpa and Grandaughter" To which he replied, "Nope! She's my daughter" and I would usually be rolling my eyes the whole time. I love him though despite all his flaws and heartaches he's caused. I think that's the way of children to love thier parents no matter what. I have seen some serious damage done by some parents and yet the kids still love them. Go figure!

Happy Saturday!!!

I love saturday's! I slept until 10am this morning! Usually I am up and out by 6 so this was way good. Anywho, I decided I am going to start a list of things to be done by me before I die. "100 things to do before I die" will be the title but I am unclear as to what those things should be. So I went online and found a few lists that were good but I want more random things than, "Go to Las vegas". Suggestions, anyone?
One thing I found, totally seperately, was a type of campground that is treehouses. How fun would that be to sleep in a treehouse! I built a tree house as a kid and it was very cool but I never slept in it. One day my brother and I went out while it was raining and got in it. The aroma of the wet dirt and trees filled the tree house and I remember just sitting there in silence with him. good times, good times.
Another thing I want to do is go to Italy. I did a book report on it once in Junior high and ever since then I am obsessed. I already have my travel books read and highlighted.
O.K. so:
1. Sleep in a tree house.
2. Visit Italy (let us make it more specific- Visit Italy for, hopefully, a month but no less than 2 weeks)
(next two added on January 15th 2006)
3. See Aurora Borealis or the southern lights (arctic lights?)
4. Visit Amsterdam per Chris' suggestion. (Better than Paris she says)
----------------
In other news-- I passed my freakin' math test!!!!!! YEAY! You have no Idea what an accomplishment this is for me. I am not a math person in any way shape or form. I am a list person :) And I also like to consider myself an emotional and creative person but definately not a math person. So Yay for me.

pics

So I did a wedding show this weekend for my father-in-law and I got to talk to a lot of young girls getting married. I missed all the fun of my wedding so much! So I started scrap-booking a few of my wedding pictures into an album and it looks good! I added below one of my favorite pics on the beach with Andy and I. We actually took this picture 2 YEARS after our wedding. My friends Jason and Michelle helped us get pictures all around the city (This one has the Golden gate bridge behind it and my favorite part is the surfers waking together behind us). Jason (the photographer) then put it all in a book with pics from the actual day. And now I am scrapping the extra pictures. I am a freak about pictures, if you couldn't tell from my website or blog for that matter. I have boxes and boxes of pictures just waiting to be put into books and I keep taking more. I think I got the picture taking from my dad and the boxes and boxes from my mom. Ok so now I am rambling and procrastinating my math homework. Wish me luck.

School

Well I made it through another day of school. I went and worked at the prechool for about 4 hours and then got talked into staying on. (I quit last week) Today was the second day of school and the new little guys were so cute and sooo sad. Now sad doesn't mean the same thing to the same people. Some of these kids were silent and heartbroken criers and then other ones were MAD! I like the unmad ones because you can talk to them and win them over VS the mad ones who will scream louder if you come close to them. It's the same every year and by the middle to end we are dealing with all new issues.
Now on the other hand, the older kids were everjoyed to see me again and I was so happy to see them. It was hard starting a new year without a classroom after having taught for 5 years but I am glad to be finishing up my degree. I am glad too that my job has been so understanding. I added a picture of my garden that I did with the kids last year. The garden I did this year just bloomed about 5 of the sunflowers with a few more on the way.

Blind men

I had this on my blog once before but I took it off because I was worried about the connection I had made to my life. I am now putting it back on for you to make your own correlation and assumptions for your own life. Read it through-- It's worth it. If you think not then tell me and I will take it off again:)

John Godfrey Saxe's ( 1816-1887) version of the famous Indian legend,

It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind.

The First approached the Elephant,
And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the Elephant
Is very like a wall!"

The Second, feeling of the tusk
Cried, "Ho! what have we here,
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me `tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant
Is very like a spear!"

The Third approached the animal,
And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
Thus boldly up he spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a snake!"

The Fourth reached out an eager hand,
And felt about the knee:
"What most this wondrous beast is like
Is mighty plain," quoth he;
"'Tis clear enough the Elephant
Is very like a tree!"

The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Said: "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most;
Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an Elephant
Is very like a fan!"

The Sixth no sooner had begun
About the beast to grope,
Than, seizing on the swinging tail
That fell within his scope.
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a rope!"

And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

Done!

I did it! I finished my work. Of course I found about 5 things to do before I did it. And I was rewarded because while I was gone the number of people who have checked out my blog doubled! I am not alone.

Procrastination

ARRRRGH! I have one little baby assignment due for my ONLINE P.E. class (go figure) and I can't and won't do it!! I think I will throw a fit to distract myself from this unbearable weight on my shoulder's. Ok here goes nothin'....
